The Gardaí who are looking into a probable arson at a former school in County Tipperary have stated that they are aware of "possible misinformation" regarding the building's usage, which surfaced on social media only after the fire.
At 9:20 p.m. last night, emergency services received a call about a fire at the former Patrician national school located on Rocklow Road in Fethard.
After fighting the fire for almost three hours, three Clonmel fire department units—including a lifting platform—and a Cashel water tender put it out just after midnight.
Gardaí said that it was "aware of possible misinformation, disinformation and rumour in relation to the use or proposed use" of the buidling and that their investigation is ongoing.
They appealed for anyone with information that can be of assistance to contact Clonmel Garda Station on 052 617 7640, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
