There's a very basic reason you shouldn't bob about in a prideful psychedelic daze over the EU.

    It just doesn't work.

And yet it grinds ever on. Collecting cuts along the way, staggering but never falling. Where is the deathblow for this monstrosity? Where is the curtain pull, the realization of invisible clothes?

A global citizen? The EU community? These are right up there beside the diversity meme, they have lost their shine and we can all smell the shit underneath.

And whilst the catcalls grow louder, and countries slip into recession, disorder and sometimes open revolt, the beast keeps going, propelled by its own propaganda and a refusal to look down on the poor unfortunates crushed below.

The longer it lasts, the worse the pendulum will swing in the opposite direction.

Putin tried that with his Customs Union.
Unfortunately Ukraine announced it had no interest in joining it.
Maybe after Putin has gone and someone less objectionable takes over Ukraine might reconsider.

Of course the EU works. Trade among EU nations has tripled since the launch of single market – to almost €2.5 trillion a year. Nowhere on the planet do so many people live so well. Firms benefit from tariff-free access, consumers get great choice and good prices, workers can circulate freely. The euro has enhanced these benefits, creating a pole of monetary stability and making life easier and cheaper for businesses and travellers. EU funding helps develop the economies of poorer members and creates lucrative new markets for the better off. Common standards protect workers’ rights, prevent monopoly abuse and ensure safer goods. Open markets create jobs, closing borders destroys them. It's hateful little irelanders and Englanders who don't think it works.

Why is immigration "nonsense"? And why would the leaders of 1916 not have allowed it to begin? You haven't repudiated any of my arguments you just say it is so because you believe it. But what if your beliefs were misguided and shaped by very strange goings on in your life since an early age. We all have our slants on things and these are shaped by our experiences. I wonder if you're not listening to old wives tales about nationalism and immigration because they are not true. Try to repudiate if you can the arguments in my previous post that you are referring to

yeah everyone's 'a hateful little' irelander, englander, frenchlander, if they don't follow yr orders.
The EU Gets PAID Big-time via our multi-€billion fishing industry, among a string of OUR National Assets now under Their Control,
buying up & financially 'colonizing' Nations around Europe, disguised under a List of company 'names', to hide their identity,
'seizing' & 'privatizing' national assets, one after the other.
The EU is just banking cartel, a 'covert' organization, under a weakening air of 'respectability'.
Just an empire they created after 1945, with themselves as Masters, of course.

i won't bother addressing the personal attacks.
Because the Leaders of 1916 did not put their Life on the line to get One invader Out, only to hand the Country over, to a different kind.
They sacrificed their Life for the Irish People.
They would rather put a Bullet in the head of the current Traitors in Office.

Well, it "works" like a pyramid scheme works if you like.

I've no issue with trading blocs. Sensible ones. Sustainable ones. Not "prosperity" accrued from pyramid schemes and sovereignty for subsidies extortion rackets. Pyramid schemes and sovereignty for subsidies extortion rackets is what the EU is. And we need that stuff as much as the crack addict needs his fix of coke.

The EU is like a broken pane of glass strewn all over the floor. Instead of pretending that stuff is salvageable.we need to draw the obvious conclusions, sweep up the pieces and try not get impaled by the shards of glass whilst so doing.

I agree the EU got it wrong with the banking crisis. They should have burned the bond holders. But that is not sufficient reason to end the whole project. The EU is a wonderful creation which has brought countries closer to each other and prevented war through preventing the exact type of talk you get into with your anti immigration anti globalisation gruff. It has mediated disputes between nations and brought common standards to work as well as great wealth to its member states. After all let us not forget Ireland great wealth in the 90's because of it

    Nope. It's a cartel.
great wealth? u mean when (a part of that cartel) the privately owned irish central bank, created each boom & then Crashed the Economy in 50's, 80's, & 2008,
to BUY Ireland's assets......cheaply, of course,
the more they buy, the less sovereignty Ireland has.
That's the plan. They do it in waves.
every 30 years, just like the older generation have said.

It isn't just a trading block and it isn't "sovereignty for subsidies extortion racket" . It is a sovereignty for peace project which is bringing countries closer to each other and its great fundamental principle that what binds us together is so much greater than our Little idiosyncrasies and differences is a lesson for mankind in the making

The central bank of Ireland 1942 begs to differ. It is owned by the state therefore by the people of Ireland. The credit it creates through printing of money however is privately owned by the stock bankers who buy it. Money can never be publicly owned in its own right because that would enable us all to claim of state aid.

To buy irelands assets? I agree with nationalising most of the states bodies but the central bank only invests the money it gets from bond holders and then returns the excess or all profits at the end of the year to the exchequer or dept of finance where it is used by the government as government spending.

The EU might be a cartel but no more than any country is a cartel unto its own citizens. Citizens can trade freely between each other without being charged tariffs on those goods although there is tax. It is not designed to take away countries sovereignty although that is a side effect of its existence. You might as well say the state has no right to tax you personally if you think the EU is taking away your country's sovereignty. They are the same thing.

The EU is not an invader nor indeed a colonialist. A group of countries agree to pool their sovereignty in exchange for a larger market. In any trading block where disputes can arise between two private parties trading together, disputes need to be resolved by an impartial body not in either of the respective countries courts of law where there would be immediate disadvantage to one party in that dispute. This is why we give up sovereignty so that we have an impartial yet binding body that can resolve those disputes such as the European Court of Justice. The courts ability to supersede national courts ensures a free fair and impartial governance of such disputes. That is the only bit of sovereignty we give up. That and the ability to make laws. This is so we can exist impartially and trade together as a block. The idea that it is done by private groups looking to take countries' independence away from them doesn't recognise this fact. (although there might be some truth in it the risk is not enough to outweigh the benefits of being part of that block).

Nope... The Irish Central Bank is a Private Bank, created & OWNED by the House of Rothschild, 1942.
Thru company names such as IAG, Eagle Star, Lonestar + via Mazar, (& recently assets 'packaged' together under NAMA), they buy up assets after THEY crash the Economy, at a time of THEIR choosing.

Who Owns The Central Bank of Ireland? | EU

Very important distinction in that link you attached - the Rothschild own the CREDIT of the Central Bank not the bank itself. Please re read your sources and come back to me with an apology for peddling lies

Think about what yr saying. There is No Need to 'pool 'Sovereignty' in a Trade Agreement between Nation States.
The ultimate aim of the EU is indeed to 'End Sovereignty', enslave the masses & turn the EU into a Corpocracy,
(an economic and political form of Oligarchy that is controlled by corporations, corporate interests, or the wealthy owners of corporations).

Hence their new flag for the EU,

we all share the same star - Google Search:

Yes there is a need to pool sovereignty precisely for the reasons I stated in that post- trade disputes arise between two parties trading with each other and in order to have a fair impartial mediator in that disputes that is not the courts in each of those parties respective countries there is a need to create a new court to govern such disputes in a free and fair manner
