An article from David Quinn in the Independent titled:

Huge scale of immigration is making our housing crisis worse

    http://www.independent.ie/opinion/columnists/david-quinn/huge-scale-of-immigration-is-making-our-housing-crisis-worse-35498057.html

It seems to me that discussing the negative consequences of mass immigration in the MSM is hopefully becoming less taboo. Quinn points out that the lack of debate in Ireland is incredibly unhealthy:

"This is incredibly unhealthy. If immigration is putting pressure on our housing stock, on rental property and prices, on school places and hospital places, then we ought to know about it because it is adversely affecting Irish-born people.

A political system that won't even contemplate this possibility, that won't ask the questions, that doesn't even know what questions to ask, is quite literally delinquent in its duties."

Unfortunately the article is behind a sign-in barrier so you will need an account to read it.

Quinn has obtained some interesting statistics to fill his article. I will post them here:

    • In 2015, 17% of people living in Ireland were "foreign-born".
    • In Britain, the equivalent percentage is 13%.
    • Aside from tiny Cyprus and Luxembourg, no country in the EU has a higher percentage of migrants from other EU countries (10%).
    • 35% of rent supplement is paid out to non-Irish EU nationals and non-EU nationals as of February, 2015.
    • This means immigrants are over-represented in the figures by two to one.
    • The Percentage of Fingal County social housing stock occupied by non-EU nationals is 12.75%
Percentage of Fingal County social housing stock occupied by non-Irish EU nationals: 2.25%
    • The Percentage of people on the social housing list in Fingal who are Irish citizens (some might be naturalised immigrants) is 61%
    • The Percentage of people on the social housing list in Fingal who are citizens of other countries is 39%, with 16% from outside the EU.
    • The percentage of non-Irish people who are in the private rental sector, as distinct from being homeowners is 70%.
    • Between 2012 and 2014, "the proportion of residents born in other EU member states decreased by one percentage point from 11% to 10%".
    • Over the same period the proportion of residents from non-EU member states has almost doubled from 4% of the population to 7%.
    • The employment rate for Africans in Ireland is 40%

Quinn finishes his article by asking, even we cannot control the level of immigration from EU countries, why at the very least are we not controlling immigration from non-EU countries.

We had no debate about this. Short of leaving the EU, or the EU radically changing its rules (very unlikely), there is nothing we can do about immigration from other EU countries, but we can do more to control immigration from non-EU countries. Why aren't we doing that?

Saying it is 'racist' to even ask such a question is patently absurd. If the entire population of Cork was to move to Dublin tomorrow it would be absolutely valid to worry about the pressure this would put on housing, schools, hospitals, jobs and so on in Dublin.

It would be totally irresponsible not to allow these concerns to be aired.

It is a question I have asked many times. Indeed there are entire forums on the internet dedicated to informing non-Europeans of the systems they can use (and abuse) to emigrate to Ireland and other EU countries.

One would therefore have to assume that our leaders desire these levels immigration despite the negative consequences on ordinary Irish citizens (landlords, slumlords and those looking for cheap labour excluded).

Former Attorney General of Ireland Peter Sutherland once said that EU member states must do their best to undermine the homogeneity in their nations without explaining why. It seems the Irish government is taking his advice. But why?

    One more stat:

Not mentioned in the article but previously we have learned that moew than half of the applicants for council homes in north Dublin are from abroad, new figures show.

Over half on housing list are foreign - Herald.ie

These stats are quite amazing. When I emigrated in 1987 the population of Ireland was 99 per cent or thereabouts ethnically culturally and yes I have to say it racially homogeneous.

The changes that have occurred since then have been the biggest by an order of magnitude that have occurred in all of Ireland's history, bigger in a few decades than the changes caused by immigration in the thousand years before.
The numbers make the changes caused by the plantations over the course of a century that people still complain about and blame for the continued division of the Island 400 years later look like small beer.

Its astonishing that all this can occur in the recent past in the internet/information age with the general population having no clue as to why this occurred or knowing who is responsible.

What's really amazing is how well the elites can hide their plans in full view.

Its great to see the truth breaking through, it seems a good few decent people out there are still able to tell the truth.

If only we had a political party that could seize on this.

We need Irexit and with quarter of the population officialy already wanting Irexit , we have all to build on.

The big problem in today's world is that the ordinary person is more likely to believe what he sees in the media than what he sees with his own eyes in the real world. I heard a museum curator talking about a video screen they put beside each exhibit to give information on each piece. Before long he noticed that people were just looking at the screens - and not at the thing itself. This is a perfect illustration of today's media poisoned mindset. Reality is being covered up by the media image. And this is true for even the likes of us here on Politicalirish.com, who would be a lot more conscious than the average person.

I think the media is disbelieved generally actually. People are subdued because its instilled in their subconscious that an anti-mass immigration revolt would be to move along a Nazi trajectory. The media is disbelieved but the New Left paradigm is internalised to a greater or lesser degree.

Yes, the media is more and more disbelieved on a conscious factual level, but on the unconscious emotional level it is believed more than ever. And let's not forget that the likes of Alex Jones and Breitbart are the media. To put it in Baudrillard's terms, they create a simulacra that murders reality just as much as CNN does - or even more so. I know one fellow and he is a fanatical follower of Alex Jones. Never misses one of his shows on You Tube and buys all the vitamins and t-shirts. You will never meet a more brainwashed individual.

Baudrillard et al wrote about that often - Hyperreality. Very interesting stuff.
    Surprise!
You have been living in The Truman Show. Your parents, TG are not your real parents. They are/were professional actors and your life has been a reality tv show all along. It's all a sham.

Shocking stats but not something new to most of us.

To be in a place where we are worse than the UK for foreign born people living here is shocking enough, but you try to explain these figures to some of the general public and they simply won't have it.

we are committing our own genocide and we are walking right into it and very few care or are too damn lazy to look at the evidence.

Most people are misinformed sheep who can't think for themselves
the problem is the media will never talk about mass immigration
all that's been in the news this last year is the housing crisis
yet not one commentator on TVs asks how did we come to this
when we lost circa 300k people since the crash logic would suggest
that in fact we should have a housing surplus but the opposite is the case
does no one think we'll how did that come about, what are the figures
common sense should tell anyone that if you are a small country you can't house the world
but that's is exactly what's happening yet no one is mentioning it on debates on tv
thrre is no will on the part of any politicians to talk about this because
a lot of them are ignoramuses, a lot are scared and a lot like the loony left support it.
i am afraid unless a group of people come together to form some sort of organisation
which could garner some sort of credibility who people will listen to nothing will change.
i can't understand how people can walk along o Connell st and listen to all the languages
and not put 2 & 2 together and wonder where are all theses people living.

we are living in an industrial estate on the edge of Europe it is no longer a country

Ha! look at the ad google is showing on this site:

Yeah, I'd say this site is just brimming with users looking for EU passport rackets.

    http://passportes.com/en/

I had click through though to see what they are about though.
    Based in Slovenia, they say.
They have translations for their site in Russian, Hindi, Arabic and Chinese.
    Russian is default.

    This is their copy:

You can choose a passport from Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania or Hungary.

Would love to document someone going through their process to see what happens.

I worked with a Moldovan years ago and asked him how he was able to work in Ireland.

He said he bought a Romanian passport and asked me if I'd like one too.

Fantastic News for the Landlord Gombeens that the Varadkar Régime represents - But will lead to accelerated fertility collapse among the Native Irish and thus accelerated Population Replacement by Mass Immigration.

House prices to rise 20% over the next three years, ESRI says

Think tank says the figure could be even higher if housing supply issues are not addressed

The cost of buying a home will rise by at least 20 per cent over the next three years, according to the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI), which said price growth at such a rate would not mean another property bubble was inflating.

The latest report from the State-funded think tank says that if economic growth projections are realised and if housing supply issues are not addressed then prices could rise significantly more between now and 2020.

7 COUNTRIES WHERE GETTING CITIZENSHIP IS EASY !!!!

IRELAND IS THE ONLY EUROPEAN COUNTRY ON THAT LIST !
Allowing DUAL Citizenship to ALL Nationalities, instead of to only those of Irish Heritage, Parents, or Grandparents.
