I was digging around my computer this evening for a file, and came across this. I've no idea where I saved it from, but I can see why I did. It's from 2014 too, so it's a disaster how little action we're taking on this stuff, if anything, it's getting worse...

    Es Muslims Forum

a member of our forum wrote this, a few reasons why some liberals and those on the Left are frightened of criticising Islam:
    ++++

    (a) Fear it can be used to demonise all Muslims. A legitimate fear, but which allows the far-right to run with the issue, rather than the Left taking ownership of it and opposing it on basis of inclusive secularism. In doing so, it exacerbates the problem, leads to denial, which actually is actually a gift for the far-right. Take notice of how the Left and the Guardian stood up against honour crimes, FGM etc, and dispossessed the far-right from using those issues for its own prejudiced agenda.

    (b) Cultural / Moral relativism – the crippling idiocy of the idea that it is wrong to criticise ideas and beliefs that are inimical to values we must defend and stand up for simply because they are propagated by those deemed to be part of a protected victim group. Abject terror of being called prejudiced or ‘Islamophobic’.

    (c) Cynicism. Some on the Left feel that Islamism, a far-right movement, should be accommodated because Islamic identity politics may be a boon for them, although often this is just in the sense of keeping quiet rather than proactively supporting. However some actually do like Islamism, on the extreme far-Left.

    (d) The Multiculturalism of Fools. A big subject in its own right. Related to (b) but rooted in notions of denying the primacy of the individual over the collective in terms of a reactionary form of communal religious identity politics.

    (e) Cowardice. There are sadly some people who are simply cowards and spineless.

    (f) Laziness. Some people on the Left are too lazy to think this through. Connected to lots of the above factors too.

    (g) The betrayal of secular, humanist, universal values. A Left that fails to stand up for secularism is a Left that will ultimately be doomed to failure. Whilst nationalist extremism and hate is easy to identify, Islamists hide in plain sight by abusing the rhetoric and language of the liberal left. Staying silent about this, or being inhibited from confronting it out of fear, allows it to prosper, and makes us complicit in our own abuse.

If something is profoundly against your religion, shouldn't you be louder in protest against it, than in protest against those talking about it?

When people say that critique of religion is prejudiced, you are imposing a blasphemy code by stealth and this should ring alarm bells.
It is profoundly sinister. It sides with those who would silence us definitively.

If you say that we can critique religion in a better way, lets make that happen, then you accept the need for secular critique of Islam, and are opposed both to the reactionary, oppressive aspects of religion, and those who use the need for critique for other agendas.

At the moment, we are not having the conversation that needs to be had about Islam because of defensiveness and wishful thinking.

Tommy head to the Quilliam offices to ask them why they called him a “white supremacist”.

Here's the Guardian article in question:

"That the far right has moved from the fringe into the mainstream demonstrates the massive support that white supremacist movements have attracted from digital natives. Their online followership often exceeds that of mainstream political parties: with over 200,000 followers, Tommy Robinson’s Twitter account has almost the same number of followers as Theresa May’s."

Full on demonisation, especially from the supposed moderates like quilliam.

On a side note, I've often said that that complete phony Nawaz is a total Trojan horse.

Wonder how much they get paid to pretend they can moderate Islam.
Striking how lax their security was for an organisation that could be a target for attacks.

Oh dear, here we go again.

Boy killed after mob tries to lynch Hindu man charged with blasphemy

Here's a snippet of the article.

A 10-YEAR-OLD BOY was killed and five others were wounded yesterday when a mob attacked a police station in an attempt to lynch a Hindu man charged with blasphemy in southwest Pakistan, officials said.

It was the third major vigilante attack linked to accusations of insulting Islam in less than a month, as law enforcement agencies struggle to deal with a surge in violence.

The latest incident occurred in the town of Hub in restive Balochistan province following the arrest of Prakash Kumar, a 34-year-old member of the country’s Hindu religious minority.

Kumar, a crockery shop owner, was detained on Tuesday for allegedly posting an incendiary image on social media.

“When news of his arrest was published in local newspapers yesterday, a crowd of some 500 people including traders, clerics and politicians surrounded the town’s police station to demand he be handed over,” police official Abdul Sattar told AFP.

When police refused, the mob turned on them, beating up officers and local government officials before opening fire with guns. A 10-year-old boy was killed and five others were wounded in the melee, he added.

Scary stuff. We're next too, nothing surer.

How is this not seen as the out and out invasion that it is? They must be just pissing themselves at how easy it is too.

"Qatar’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has opened Scandinavia’s largest mosque in Malmö, Sweden.

The 1,791 square metre Umm Al-Mu’minin Khadijah Mosque will be able to accommodate around 2,000 devotees and cost the Qatari government around three million euros, according to the Qatar News Agency.

An absolute monarchy where the legal system is based largely on Sharia law, the Gulf state has been repeatedly accused of funding radical Islamic terrorism, not least by former U.S. Secretary of State and Democratic party presidential candidate Hillary Clinton."

Norwegian ruling party votes to ban circumcision for men under 16 years old

A political party in Norway has voted to ban the ritual circumcision of boys under the age of 16 and several other measures which have been blasted as an attack on minorities.

In its national annual conference over the weekend, the anti-immigrant and libertarian Progress Party (FrP) voted to also ban hijabs in public schools, as well as forbidding the religious ritual of circumcision for young men.

Advocates claimed that circumcision resulted in mental and physical harm to children and was a serious violation of human rights.

“This is very sad,” Ervin Kohn, a Jewish community leader in Norway, told Aftenposten.

“They [the Progress Party] must know they won’t get a majority for this in Parliament. It seems like they want to send a signal that we are unwelcome in the country.”

He tweeted encouragement for Norwegian voters to support “any other party” in the election this autumn.

Another opposing voice came from Rabbi Menachem Margolin, general director of the European Jewish Association. He wrote a letter to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to call for collaboration between European Jewish organisations and government to prevent the proliferation of anti-Jewish legislation.

    Scott Adams wonders why:

If scientists can make climate prediction models that are reliable (or so they tell us), why can’t they do the same with Muslim immigration predictions?

    Scott Adams' Blog

It's a good approach to take with your average voter.

It's incredible that so called civilized European governments still allow the genital mutilation of children in cult sacrifices. It goes to show that for European politicians - money will always trump child safety.
