To return to the point though, Varadkar is the product of miscegenation. A mixed-race person can be Irish on account of the Irish parent, however I wager the Irish parent probably doesn't care much for Irish nationality based on the face they've been race-mixing with an Indian. The blood and the land are paramount when it comes to any nationality but Irish nationality in particular. How can Varadkar ever have full dedication to Ireland when it's not innate in him? He was raised for a period in India, he is not of the Irish race and therefore his commitment to Ireland will never be absolute. However I won't begrudge Varadkar for something he could never control, - when he continues on the sell-out of Ireland it won't feel like such a treachery as when Bertie or another Irish premier did. He believes he's doing what's best for Ireland because his very notion of Ireland was corrupted from his birth - the others have no excuse.
