BEIJING (Reuters) - If North Korea launches an attack that threatens the United States then China should stay neutral, but if the United States attacks first and tries to overthrow North Korea's government China will stop them, a Chinese state-run newspaper said on Friday.

President Donald Trump ratcheted up his rhetoric toward North Korea and its leader on Thursday, warning Pyongyang against attacking Guam or U.S. allies after it disclosed plans to fire missiles over Japan to land near the U.S. Pacific territory.

China, North Korea's most important ally and trading partner, has reiterated calls for calm during the current crisis. It has expressed frustration with both Pyongyang's repeated nuclear and missile tests and with behavior from South Korea and the United States that it sees as escalating tensions.

The widely read state-run Global Times, published by the ruling Communist Party's official People's Daily, wrote in an editorial that Beijing is not able to persuade either Washington or Pyongyang to back down.

"It needs to make clear its stance to all sides and make them understand that when their actions jeopardize China's interests, China will respond with a firm hand," said the paper, which does not represent government policy.

"China should also make clear that if North Korea launches missiles that threaten U.S. soil first and the U.S. retaliates, China will stay neutral," it added.
"If the U.S. and South Korea carry out strikes and try to overthrow the North Korean regime and change the political pattern of the Korean Peninsula, China will prevent them from doing so."

If Trump starts a hot war with NK, WWIII is on the cards. It's just that simple.

NK getting hit would destabilise China and so China will move to forestall any attack.

The Chinese are terrified, understandably so given the stakes. But I think like most people they misread Trump's belligerent rhetoric as intent to carry out his belligerent rhetoric. Trump is a showman -- not much of an action man. Not when foreign policy is concerned anyway.

Israeli-North Korean relations (Korean: 이스라엘-조선민주주의인민공화국 관계) are very hostile,[1] and North Korea has never recognized the state of Israel, denouncing it as an "imperialist satellite".[2] Since 1988 it recognises the sovereignty of the State of Palestine over all of Israel, except for the Golan Heights, which it recognises as part of Syria.

    History[edit]

North Korea sent 20 pilots and 19 non-combat personnel to Egypt during Yom Kippur War. The unit had four to six encounters with the Israelis from August through the end of the war. According to Shlomo Aloni, the last aerial engagement on the Egyptian front, which took place on 6 December, saw Israeli F-4s engage North Korean-piloted MiG-21s. The Israelis shot down one MiG, and another was shot down by friendly fire from Egyptian air defenses.[3]
Over the years, North Korea has supplied missile technology to Israel's neighbours, including Iran, Syria, Libya, and Egypt.[4][5][6] Syria, which has a history of confrontations with Israel, has long maintained a relationship with North Korea based on the cooperation between their respective nuclear programs. On 6 September 2007, the Israeli Air Force conducted airstrike "Operation Orchard" on a target in the Deir ez-Zor region of Syria. According to media reports, 10 North Koreans who "had been helping with the construction of a nuclear reactor in Syria" were killed during the airstrike.[7]
When North Korea opened up to foreign tourists in 1986 it excluded citizens of Israel along with those of the United States, Japan, Taiwan, and South Africa.[8] Jewish people from other countries have experienced problems entering North Korea. Israel has called for world action against North Korea's nuclear weapons programme.[9] It has been suggested that North Korea has sought to model its nuclear weapons programme on Israel's, as "a small-state deterrent for a country surrounded by powerful enemies; to display enough activity to make possession of a nuclear device plausible to the outside world, but with no announcement of possession: in short, to appear to arm itself with an ultimate trump card and keep everyone guessing whether and when the weapons might become available."[10]
Following the fall of the Soviet Union, Israel sent a diplomatic delegation to North Korea, but the efforts were stopped by then-Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, possibly due to United States and Mossad pressure.[11]
In May 2010 the Israeli foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, labeled North Korea as part of an "axis of evil"; he stated:
"This axis of evil that includes North Korea, Syria and Iran, it's the biggest threat to the entire world".[12]
In 2014 as the Israel–Gaza conflict escalated, North Korea allegedly negotiated arms deals with Hamas.[13] This was however denied by the KCNA a few days later.[14]

I wonder what they were thinking when they wrote that headline. Are they saying they have the ability to intercept and shoot down every missile that the US has in its arsenal? That sounds remarkably far fetched.

The only other way they could prevent an attack would be to launch a pre-emptive nuclear attack on the US. But even that is not going to destroy all the nuclear submarines that the US has circulating around the world apart from which it would also cause all of China to be turned into a Nuclear desert.

I have not been listening to talk radio much recently as I hope to at least understand arabic when listening to it, inshallah, so I listen to that instead. However I tuned in yesterday and the tone now is that it is a done deal that Fat Boy is gone. It is just a matter of the method.
Nobody wants to invade, they just want him dead as quickly as possible.
If China needs a crak then let them have it too. If Trump is real, he will default on our bond and let the Chinese suck on 1.5 trillion dollars of a loss, plus all their exports.
For those that say this will destroy the US system, I reply that you do not understand economics. A reset is exactly what the US needs.

A load of shyte. D4 does not put any work at all in his threads. She just lifts stuff of the gutter press and adds the same memes for years now. There is nearly no personal contens in her posts. The only time she puts in some of her own words is when she insulkts another poster as a response to a question.
She is nothing but a propaganda bot for anti EU morons. You can surely call her a troll as well.

They said that the DPRK towered as a nuclear power of Juche and world's military power thanks to the leadership of respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

They denounced evermore escalated moves of the U.S. and its vassal forces to isolate and stifle the DPRK as the barbarous acts aimed to deprive the DPRK of its sovereignty and right to existence and development and wring the windpipe of the Korean nation.

The world progressives will always stand by the Korean people and express invariable solidarity to them, they noted.

Kim Jong Suk in her speech expressed thanks to the foreign friends for voicing full support and solidarity to the just cause of the Korean people.
