Is it not accepted by all that France is in steep decline

I think it cannot be denied that Paris is more of a warzone today than it was during WW2. It certainly looks a lot uglier. You wouldn't really think of Paris today as a romantic city.

No, it is not. That is just political propaganda. Like every country France has its problems. But to construct a steep decline out of this and compare it actually to a warzone is just fakenews bullshit.
Aleppo is a warzone and Syria is steep decline- look it up and you find out what terms like "warzone" and "steep decline" in real life outside of a propaganda bubble actually mean.

I wonder why you didn't mention that half the Jewish population of Paris was put in trains like cattle and sent East for extermination?

Large urban areas of France are effectively outside of the control of the French state.

That is what some people say. Others say the complete opposite.
I would consider parts of Belfast outside of any state run control. Large areas of that town are just run by paramilitary thugs.

As messed up as the situations in Divis and Tigers' Bay are there is no comparison between them and the situation in Clichy-sous-Bois or parts of Trappes.

France faced a full blown insurgency in 2005 that was in many ways much more full on than the overly romanticized May-June of 1968 though a lot less shall we say eloquent.

There is massive youth unemployment in France. It is alright if you are part of the Parisian elite and I think what you miss with Tadgh's photographs is just how segregated a city Paris. The suburbs are completely different world to the centre.

Well, the center of Paris has now been invaded by migrants from the Calais Jungle.
