Vile neo-Nazis are handing out stickers encouraging vicious attacks on refugees.

They feature an image of men with swords on horses chasing immigrants.

The horrendous campaign is being blamed on small number of far-right extremists in Galway.

Hundreds of these stickers with the phrase “Defend Your Heritage" have been distributed in recent weeks.

The group is also behind a graffiti tribute to Adolf Hitler beside the Westend Canal in the city.

Sick neo-Nazis urge attacks on refugees in Ireland

You have to wonder whether this stuff is black propaganda geared at smearing opposition to mass immigration.
Anyone with an IQ over 65 would have to know that associating opposition to mass immigration with Hitler isn't going to be winning the masses over.

It's very likely that Antifa or some such muppets are behind this. That said, there are some seriously brain dead eegits around who might actually think this would help.

I think anyone who admires Hitler will automatically find much to admire in Stalin.

I wonder how many quangos were set up to help returned Irish ex-pats settle in Ireland?

A small example is I came back with a 20 year clean driving record, on a full, up do date US driving licence.

It meant nothing here. I had to go back to the start, pay €80(?) to take the basic theory test, in order to get a provisional licence, in order to pay €400 to take driving lessons, in order to take the driving test, in order to get a full licence. Then drive around for a year with an N on the back window.

Any EU citizen can come here and exchange their licence for a full Irish one.

Irish citizens who have been out of the country for more than a year, are treated with the same status as foreigners when applying for welfare. They have to wait for at least 3 months for any kind of assistance.
Sorry, but I think someone born in the country and paid tax all their lives should NOT be treated like he/she just got off the banana boat.

Returned Irish expats are treated the same as EU immigrants.

    Again- not true:
    Returning Irish emigrants

EU rules prevent discrimination on nationality grounds in relation to social security, so it is not possible to exempt a particular category of Irish citizens (such as returning Irish emigrants) from the habitual residence condition (either in general or for Carer’s Allowance) without extending the same treatment to all EU nationals. However, the guidelines on determination of habitual residence address the issue of returning emigrants very specifically. The guidelines state: “A person who had previously been habitually resident in the State and who moved to live and work in another country and then resumes his/her long-term residence in the State may be regarded as being habitually resident immediately on his/her return to the State.”
When determining the main centre of interest for returning emigrants, Deciding Officers take account of:
    • The purpose of your return, for example, because your foreign residence permit has expired
    • Your stated intentions
    • Verified arrangements which you have made in regard to returning on a long-term basis, for example, transfer of financial accounts and any other assets, termination of residence-based entitlements in the other country, or assistance from Safe-Home or a similar programme to enable Irish emigrants to return permanently
    • Length and continuity of your previous residence in the State
    • Your record of employment or self employment in another state and
    • Whether you have maintained links with your previous residence and can be regarded as resuming your previous residence rather than starting a new period of residence.

Gabi Muntean keeps up the fight for Roma rights

Finding employment as a Roma was a huge task. Gabi hid her identity at first, to avoid prejudice and even outright racism on account of her heritage.

Sitting beside her husband Teechi, she recalls how she ditched her traditional long Roma dress for more typical Irish clothes, and set off in search for work around the city. Without the Roma stigma, she was able to find a job as a dishwasher, for meagre pay.

But it was a job nonetheless, and it allowed her to get established in Ireland before she was ready to start taking matters into her own hands, to fight for the rights of her fellow Roma.

Her first stop was the Pavee Point Traveller and Roma Centre, which fights for the rights of Irish Travellers and their Roma counterparts. With new hope and light in her eyes, she is now a leading advocate co-operating with top Government officials and departments for Roma rights in Ireland.

In Gabi’s view, one cannot give advice to Roma beggars who are “100 times more disadvantaged than you”. However, the advice she offers to the State is to “provide emergency payments … and basic support for family needs” to those in need.

Meanwhile, the Muntean family make the most of their lives and opportunities in Ireland, hundreds of miles from Romania but also far from the cold stone of Dublin’s streets.

When asked about what they miss about their home country, Gabi and Teechi instantly reply together: “Nothing… we are Irish now.”
