I hope and believe Ireland is on course to become a truly diverse country where all people from all sides will be welcomed to this land where we can share ideas and ideals and replace the old with the new.

For years you have been abused and controlled by your Christian church, you have seen the evil among those who would preach to you the way of God, Thankfully many of the Irish nation has awoken to the lies of the Christian church and have moved away from the corrupt hypocritical teachings.

togeather those who are newly arrived in Ireland can help focus the attention of those who have been here for many years and togeather we can shape a bright future for our country.

We will need to abandon old traditions of Irish culture such as the language, but in fairness that has already been abandoned by the Irish themselves with only a small number speaking it in any real context. We need to focus our attention on making English the language of choice and have it better taught in schools where new Irish children can avail of better leaving practices so they may better learn their new language.

This isnt about killing Irish culture, its about modernising it and taking it into the 21st century, we need more ethnic representatives in the Irish parliment and I have been told that in may areas the two big political parties and hopefully Sin Fein two are considering only choosing ethic represnetatives for that area so we realy do have a well balanced focussed democracy and representative for these areas.

Ireland will be a beacon for all nations on how well multicuture can work, we can lead the world ans show them that despite the indigious population becoming a minority the new Irish and the old will still share a common bond of pride in their diverse culture and broad raging spread of ethnic diversity and growth.

I truly hope you all agree with this because it will become a better country and prosperous for us all.

I am not sure what you mean, I would like to debate yes, but I do not believe it will end up in flames, do not be scared, my friend.

I feel the warmth from the Irish government is being widely received in the communites and the excellent work Fine Gael are doing in promiting inter realtions is superb.

Excellent post I agree with it. Great nations like America, Britain and France were built on immigration we would all be so much more prosperous if we were like them.

But bear in mind we already have multicultural areas in Ireland, Blancardstown is one. Why instead of waiting don't you apply to the authority in charge of your own social house to get a swap to move to such a culturally rich area rather than waiting for what will be a slow implementation of multiculturalism in this country? How happy you will be.

I tink Michael collins was a bad man, he killed Irish people for the love of the British. Typical Fiana Failer.

    I have an idea.

Lets give the Irish population a referendum on whether they want to see Ireland moving in the direction of your vision or if they would prefer to move back in the direction of having no foreign ethnicities as was the case until a few decades ago.

Why would you want a country to go backwards and not forwards?

I am sure many Irish will be happy to keep moving forward, I dont see any complaints apart from Nazis and Racists. Everyone I meet is very supportive of immigrants and clearly understand the benefits they give to a growing prosperous country.

We have far more pressing needs for referendum such as the Repal the 8th referendum.

Asif and his thread here reminds me of a guy in a Mickey Mouse costume at Disney World who expects you to treat him as the *real* Mickey Mouse.

I, for one, just can't make that leap.
