Imagine what the Israelis and media would say if a Labour politician secretly went to Gaza and the West Bank for 12 days and only met Palestinian officials to try to get UK funding for Hamas.

I'd say they'd end up thrown in a British jail when they came back!

Patel goes and meets only Israeli officials in order to try to secure funding for Al Qaeda and she's allowed to resign as a minister but keep her job as an MP while all her fellow MPs praise her as a good person in the media

I suppose both organisations hide behind masks as they commit atrocities. And cower behind lies and propaganda that ensnare the illiterate and befuddle the blind.

But Hamas goes further — whether that is its brutality towards women, murder of gays, suppression of freedom, genocidal aspirations toward the Jews, and much more.

Whatever. You ask, "what is wrong with it". No reasonable answer will satisfy you. As Faithi Hamad of the Hamas leadership puts it, "... The entire world says: "Bravo, Hamas, for confronting these people of corruption......Hamas will receive its means of survival, its arms, and its supporters from where it is least expected, because the hatred for the Jews is on the rise, and people who hate the Jews find no [other] way to fulfill their hatred of the Jews and of the Americans..."

You agree with what the guy in the video above says. So, clearly, does Gerry Adams. So, you see "nothing wrong with it". Bully for you and Jarry.

The BBC has uncovered details of a secret deal that let hundreds of IS fighters and their families escape from Raqqa, under the gaze of the US and British-led coalition and Kurdish-led forces who control the city.

A convoy included some of IS’s most notorious members and – despite reassurances – dozens of foreign fighters. Some of those have spread out across Syria, even making it as far as Turkey.

The US/Saudi/Israeli model of proxy wars with the goal of regime change died in Syria

In 2011, when the US ignited a proxy conflict in Syria which saw foreign fighters, foreign weapons and substantial amounts of Gulfi money flow into Syria, few people thought that in 2017, Syria would be on the verge of destroying the proxy terrorist forces and that the Syrian President and government would be stronger and more popular than ever.

This is now the reality and it is due to both Syrian resilience, strong Arabist leadership from the Arab Socialist Ba’ath party, and Russia’s commitment to help her Syrian ally win the battle.

Syria, Russia, Iran, Hezbollah and other volunteers have demonstrated that the ‘regime change’ steamroller can be stopped. This legacy will continue to haunt the US and its allies for many years to come, all while providing a source of inspiration for countries who are bullied by Washington.

From Wikipedia: President Bashar al-Assad's family is Alawite and Alawites dominate the government of Syria and hold key military positions.[207] In May 2013, SOHR stated that out of 94,000 killed during the Syrian Civil War, at least 41,000 were Alawites.

    Syria

The minority Alawite sect holds an elevated political status disproportionate to its numbers because President Asad and his family are Alawites and ensure that other Alawites occupy key government positions

Government policy officially disavows sectarianism of any kind, but religion can be a factor in determining some career opportunities. For example, Alawites hold dominant positions in the military and other security services disproportionate to their numbers.

If you think my quoting Wikipedia and the State Dept. is rubbish, whatever. Citing sources such as these on non-controversial, objective subjects is more convincing than going off half-cocked.

The civilian government is well represented by Sunnis. Alawites tend to converge in the security apparatus and the SAA. Partially because the late Hafez wanted people he could trust to fend off any coup -- Syria had been a nation of frequent coups up until that point so one can appreciate his diligence.

Maybe, instead of the State dept doing a report on Allawite over-representation in a far off land, they can do a report on how 50% of their most powerful and influential come from a demographic representing just 2% of the population, AKA the Jewish lobby.
