In Bethlehem, the birth place of Jesus, they have turned off the lights on their Christmas tree in protest at Trumps decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

    Have to dis-agree Tadhg,...

He's actually done quite a bit In one year.
Great Supreme court pick.....Got out of TPP.... just yesterday a big victory for state's rights....

He's actually kept every one of his promises that he could, without Congress, so far (Tax bill coming up)

I do wish he would have let the Jerusalem question alone....but he did promise that as well....So did Clinton, Bush and Obama, I think.

Most of the hatred for America, comes from the Link to Isreal......well. we seem to be joined at the hip....not gonna change.

But, I was overjoyed when he won, and am thankful every day........the Alternative was un-thinkable

Oh I agree that the monster Hillary was unthinkable. But she would have destroyed the Empire too in her own way - but she might have taken the rest of us down with her.

You could be right, but it is not such a big deal here

Senate unanimously passes bill marking 50 years since Jerusalem reunification

Everyone wants it to be the Capital

Well, It seems, I think, that the most important Dynamic going on in the World, is the struggle of Sovereign States to survive against the Nightmare of all-Powerful Globalism (E.U.)...
I'm a sucker for any Pol, who puts his Country, first....Farrage,or Orban or anyone else, And I think and hope that Trump does. I loved it when he said, 'I'm the President of Pittsburgh, not Paris. And right now, because of this type of Patriotism he making all the right enemies (The usual suspects)

It seems he thinks he's the president of Israel. The USA gets no benefit from this and possibly a lot of grief.

I think that during the Cold War we suffered Israel and all her shenanigans because she was a strategic linchpin, but those days are long past. When you consider that she allies herself with the Turks and the Saudis and against the Iranians and Syrians, that's a huge red flag. Our alliance is an anachronism and more of an albatross nowadays.

Too bad most of our congressmen are still blinkered by that AIPAC Holocaust guilt-trip. They can't see the forest for the trees,

Dribbling nonsense. It is little different.

Examine one branch of your direct political ancestors during these times.

They were fed with very much the same sustenance wrt "anti-Zionism" - Soviet anti-Zionism | Propaganda Doctrine]

And these political "ancestors" were being manipulated in the very same way as today's useful fools - (e.g.
Vladimir Bukovsky's document stash among other sources clearly evidenced how the early 1980's Western peace movements and anti-missile movements were being orchestrated by the Kremlin, just as a number of countries with imperialist ambitions today carefully target the most susceptible, gullible, angry, malcontent, unintelligent parts of our society.).

It was even many of the same intellectuals, such as Noam Chomsky, that these "ancestors" of yours ran to to find out what they should think about something, and similarly they typically came back with something very nasty indeed.

Very same shit, just a different day. Magnified through the internet to further reduce barriers to entry.

We have learned that unlike Clinton, Bush and Obama Trump keeps his election pledges. All four of them pledged to acknowledge Jerusalem as Israels capital when electioneering.

Really? Trump promised to deliver millions of decent jobs to the US working class. He hasn't done that. The jobs that are being created are low paid jobs. Trump promised a "terrific" health service. All he has done is made Obamacare even more dysfunctional. Trump promised to improve security for working class people - he has just made sure that their sons will be getting killed in more wars against Muslim people. Trump is a fraud.

roc_ was the Jewish community in Ireland always as extreme as it is now or is it's current extremity a product of the interweb?

The Zionist nightmare is that more and more Americans and Germans are waking up to your scam. There's no business like Shoah business - until people ask themselves why they are taking food out of the mouths of their own children and giving it to gangsters.

The pervasive commonality in your "community" on here is "anti-African", "anti-Jew", "anti-Israel", "anti-establishment" conspiracy mongering; irrationalistic philosophies, racialist esthetics, anticapitalistic demagogy, heterodox currency views, criticism of the party system, disparagement of our existing democratic set-up, disparagement of interracial couples, sharing of racist caricatures and dehumanising of minorities etc.

These themes unite left and right in your "community", just as they have done in the past. Jews, gays, gypsies, minorities and multiculturalism are blamed for everything etc.

Mostly we have on here white male “wound collectors” - frustrated, unemployed, living with their mother or an estranged spouse or girlfriend who are the sole providers in their household, and a handful of women like yourself who hang on them.

These "ancestors" similarly projected their grievances on society and sought the excuses and "explanations" that did not relate to their behavior or the choices they had made made in life.

Do you understand me better now? It has nothing to do with "conservative" or "liberal" paradigms, ffs.

No, most of us say that mass immigration is a symptom rather than a cause - a symptom of the collapse of European values.
