Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Confirmed as US Health Secretary
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the nominee for Health Secretary put forward by US President Donald Trump, has officially received Senate approval to lead the nation’s top health department.

Kennedy will head the Department of Health and Human Services, overseeing key agencies responsible for public health, including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The Senate confirmed his appointment with a 52-48 vote, primarily following party lines. One Republican, former Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell, broke ranks to oppose the nomination, joining all 47 Democratic senators in voting against Kennedy.
